OHH... i thought it was just in Linux. I use the command line in linux. I guess i should have brushed up on my history of unix. =D

Unix is a just a command line, and a kernel on Linux systems. It says Unix because it's the Unix. The Unix shell is more powerful than the DOS prompt you get in Windows. Probably why they decided to use Unix instead. And easy to write things for it too.
